Hat Yai(Thailand) Trip 2010 Preview

On the 26th-28th December, my family and I went to Hat Yai for a short holiday trip. It was pretty much a last minute trip and fortunately there were still ample seats on Air Asia.

As a mini summary for the trip, let's start with the weather. For the first two days, the weather is pretty much like in KL with the strong sunshine while on the last day(thankfully) did it start to drizzle a bit here and there.

The food here is very nice! Suitable to my liking although most of them are usually spicy. There are many unique delicacies that could not be found in Malaysia such as the coconut ice cream in a coconut, fried insects(no courage to try though =X) and so on. The tom yam and green curry is particularly delicious here too! Pricing wise....still not too bad la compared to Malaysia and is definitely cheaper than Seoul!

Shopping is also very cheap here! If you buy their made in Thailand clothings. Almost finished my Chinese New Year shopping here with just rm200! Buahahahaha. And almost everybody can speak English or Hokkien so its really easy to communicate and bargain prices. =D There is almost no chance to try and talk in Thai language.

Hat Yai is also quite happening where the shops still open till late night, especially in the red light districts! XP And i thought it would be very kampung-ish and boring from all the rumours i've heard on forums and the likes.

That's all i could summarise for now, as usual I will let my pictures to do the talking.

Hatyai for first timer should be nice but as you had already visited the town for few times, you will finally understand what those people were talking on the forum...
