Jonker Street at night during Chinese New Year 2013
It's been awhile, 10 over years if my memory served me well, I have never been to Jonker Walk in a long long while despite me going to Melaka relatively frequently. So when someone offered me to one of the top tourist attraction in Malaysia I jumped at the chance.
In my opinion, Jonker Street (which has UNESCO World Heritage Site status), or Jonker Walk during Chinese New Year is so much fun to walk around compared to the usual days if you want to avoid congestion (of people & cars alike). The whole street & night market is much more quiet and there is much more room to walk around. The decoration along the street is also matched well with the Chinese New Year atmosphere.
Tourists from overseas and locals alike really should have a look at this place during this festive season as it gives a during perspective and atmosphere compared to the normal days.
