Pattaya Trip 2017: Part 2 (Nonze Hostel, Pattaya Beach, Walking Street)
Since I was on a budget trip I decided to stay at a capsule hostel for the two nights in Pattaya. Nonze Hotel was located right in front of the very touristy Beach Road of Pattaya, right next to the McDonald's so it is pretty easy to spot.
For the price of ฿638.00 per night you get a whole capsule to yourself. Privacy wise it's pretty good at such a price point, however there are many holes at the door of your bunk which people can look inside. Also if your capsule happens to face the window side, the sun light can leak into your room during the morning and it gets pretty annoying when you want to sleep in.

Also they provide reasonably edible breakfast. No refills for the drinks though.
For this day I decided to just chill around the vicinity of my hostel after all the travelling yesterday to various parts of Pattaya.
At the Pattaya beach there are many beach chairs which you can rent from the vendors if you plan to lazy back by the beach. Every minute or so there will be a food peddler walking past to sell you food or a massage which can also be slightly irritating. It can be quite a pitiful sight as well as you can see the same person walking the entire length of beach from day to night trying to make a living.

What's a trip in Pattaya without getting a massage right? Massage rates here are so much more cheaper than Bangkok's and the whole street is full with parlours. I got an hour's massage for ฿180.
One thing that amazes me is that Thailand seem to have an ATM machine in every random corner of the street!

As the sun started to set I then headed to the biggest thing in Pattaya - The Walking Street. Since I was here early, the bars and night clubs have yet to open.
There was a Muay Thai showcase going on around in the area and I thought why not have a look. Turns out I have to buy a drink before I am allowed to watch. And if I wanted to have a photo taken with them I had to pay another ฿200. 😓 All the other tourists immediately left at this point.
There were also a lot of seafood restaurants here but I gave it a skip. The prices here would definitely kill my wallet. I settled for a random Thai Restaurant for dinner in the end.
And that pretty sums up my short trip here in Pattaya as I made my way back to Bangkok the next morning. There were a few temples and the theme park which I had to skip due to lack of time and also not willing to splurge on private transportation to get to those places. Pattaya is too touristy and over commercialised for my liking. But then again this is the main economy driver of this place. Might not return for a long long time. 😂
