Taiwan Trip 2012 - Taroko Gorge One Day Trip (太鲁阁一日游)

As the glaring summer sun shines through my bedroom at 7am in the morning, I got up and prepared myself for a day trip to Taroko Gorge. Not sure who's the organiser for this tour but my hostel owner, Lisa settled everything for me. All I was required to do was to pay about 1000NTD for the trip.

Not to be travelling starved, I headed to a restaurant nearby for breakfast. Got another Pork Burger + Red Tea set. :D

Seems like this was their specialty ._.

After taking away the food Lisa then fetched me back to the train station to board the bus to Taroko. All settled for me! :D

Otherwise...you could arrange your own tour here by yourself I think ._.

After about 40 minutes drive, I arrived at my first destination, which is the main entrance of the Taroko National Park. Over here I was lucky enough to meet up with people from APPS 2012 too!!

30 minutes later I boarded back the bus and it took me to the infamous Chan Chun Temple 長春寺 and Bridge 長春橋. It's been a long long time since I've last stepped foot here and I have to say the place looks better during the colder seasons.

Then the bus proceeded to Bu Luo Wan 布落灣. Over here there's a museum of the Aborigines and other scenic views.

At this point of time the weather was really sickening hot and I was already drenched by sweat @_@. About 30 minutes later I headed to the Swallow's Grotto for a short walk.

Unfortunately this tour does not include a chance for me to try out the suspension bridge :(

Due to the recent earthquake, the Nine Turns Trail was closed :( If I were to come back to Taroko Gorge next time in the future I will definitely revisit that trail!

At about 1pm we arrived at Tian Xiang for lunch. Food was relatively good as my tour group and I was served an 8 course meal which consisted of a very fresh fish and other dishes! I shared a table with a group of really friend Taiwanese family as well and it was really very nice to have a good chat with them over lunch.

Taiwanese peach! Very very soft and delicate. 500NTD. Bought one box back to Malaysia but it didn't really survived well :(

And last but not least, the Ci Mu Bridge and this concludes my post at this place :D

Hello, I came across your blog while searching for a place to stay in Hualien.

I find your post to be very detailed and informative on visiting the park. I am planning on going there in two day. Would it be possible to send me the name of the B&B?

Thanks, Linda
